Commissioners eyeing update to doggy pound

The Highland County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday early morning and just one of the most important subject areas discussed was upgrading the Highland County Doggy Pound.

Commission president Jeff Duncan reported there have been problems with the pound and there has been “a excellent little bit of money” put in repairing it up.

A deal accepted by the board described DS2 Architects and a new around 6,000-square-foot animal shelter. Duncan explained the board of commissioners has been searching into the probability of upgrading the facility and what that might entail and charge.

An additional issue mentioned was that the Fairfield educational facilities received a grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation to extend a sidewalk foremost to the college.
