Camper shoots, injures Idaho family’s doggy soon after mistaking her for a wolf | Regional News

Jun. 16—An Idaho family’s dog is recovering soon after getting shot twice on Saturday by a camper who mistook her for a wolf.

Rob Kolb and his 16-yr-aged daughter, Piper, were backpacking at North Fork Lake in the Boulder Mountains with their Alaskan malamute, Suki, when the dog wandered to a close by campsite. A camper there believed Suki was a wolf and fired a few bullets from a handgun, putting the pet dog in the head and neck.

Now the Kolbs are urging outdoor recreators to brush up on their wildlife identification expertise and training caution with firearms — particularly as summer season recreation and tensions about wolves warmth up in Idaho.

Dog ejected from car in Idaho crash found two times afterwards herding sheep

Tilly the pet dog has had a chaotic several days.

At 11:55 a.m. Sunday, Linda Oswald’s spouse and children was driving along Idaho Condition Highway 41 with their puppy in the back again of their GMC Yukon when they collided with another car.

The crash shattered the Yukon’s rear window and flung Tilly by the opening. He survived the ejection unharmed but shocked, and took flight throughout the prairie south of Rathdrum as an alternative of hanging around at the crash.
