BENNINGTON — With thanks to those people responsible and the simultaneous cutting of a blue ribbon by a dozen or so pairs of scissors, the new Bennington Doggy Park at Willow Park was declared open up on Saturday.
The park is “our community treasure, and a single that we and our canine companions will love for years to come,” claimed Susan Armstrong, one of the project’s a few founders, in quick remarks prior to the ribbon-slicing.
Development of the park was funded by way of $25,000 in personal donations. The town obtained bids on building the chain-connection fence, the project’s key price tag, and provided the area, a tree-shaded fifty percent-acre near Willow Park’s volleyball courts. Select Board member Tom Haley, who was not existing but supplied geared up remarks to Armstrong, referred to as the new park “a boon to Bennington, not only for our existing citizens and their canine relations, but as an added attraction to dog homeowners who are thinking of generating Bennington their dwelling.”
