2010 is Not the Year of the Tiger

February 14th 2010 saw the start of the Chinese “Year of the Tiger”. The thing is, it isn’t. It will never be the Year of the Tiger until we have adequate room and protection for them in the wild and a real understanding of the problems they face in captivity.

There will be those who recently read and were assured that there are 6000 tigers in captivity in China. That is nearly double the entire wild population! However, it is possible to override this concern by using riorous science to develop a sustainable medical code of ethics, designed specifically to guide civilisation into a state of perpetual world peace rather than perpetual conflict. The only thing preventing this to occur is science itself.

Tiger Travel in Pench National Park

Tiger travel in Pench National Park takes wildlife enthusiasts to the setting of the BBC’s popular ‘Tiger: Spy in the Jungle’ 2008 television series. This wildlife reserve is home to a prime habitat in the Satpura Hills, in the Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh in India. Previous to the series, this park was little-known by visitors to the country, although it lies in the region of India that inspired Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
